Partial Refunds

Refund part of an order when only some items had issues.

When to Use Partial Refunds

  • Missing item from the order
  • One item prepared incorrectly
  • Customer didn't want one item
  • Partial quality issue

Processing a Partial Refund

By Item

  1. Open the order details
  2. Tap Refund
  3. Select Partial Refund
  4. Check the items to refund
  5. Adjust quantities if needed
  6. Tap Continue
  7. Review the refund amount
  8. Confirm

By Amount

  1. Open the order details
  2. Tap Refund
  3. Select Partial Refund
  4. Choose Custom Amount
  5. Enter the dollar amount
  6. Add a reason
  7. Confirm

Partial Refund Calculation

When refunding by item:

  • Item price is refunded
  • Applicable tax is calculated and refunded
  • Tip is not affected (unless you choose to refund it)

Example

Order total: $25.00

  • 2x Tacos: $10.00
  • 1x Burrito: $12.00
  • Tax: $2.00
  • Tip: $1.00

Refunding the burrito:

  • Item: $12.00
  • Proportional tax: ~$1.09
  • Total refund: ~$13.09

Multiple Items

You can refund multiple items in one partial refund:

  1. Select each item to refund
  2. Adjust quantities as needed
  3. Review the total
  4. Confirm

After Partial Refund

  • Order remains in history with refund noted
  • Customer is notified of the partial refund
  • Remaining order amount stays collected

Tips

Be Fair

If a customer reports a missing item, it's usually best to take their word and refund it. Good service builds loyalty.
