Prepare Orders¶
Once you accept an order, it's in the "Preparing" state while you make the food.
Orders in Preparation¶
Preparing orders appear in the Active section of your order dashboard. Each shows:
- Order number
- Items being made
- Time since accepted
- Any special notes
During Preparation¶
As you work on an order:
- Keep it visible on your dashboard
- Refer to special notes for modifications
- Track preparation time
Preparation Tips¶
Use Printed Tickets¶
If you have a printer set up:
- Tickets show all items and modifications
- Keep tickets with the order as you prepare
- Check off items as you complete them
Handle Special Notes¶
Pay attention to customer notes:
- Allergies - Critical to follow
- Preferences - "Extra spicy", "No onions"
- Questions - "Is this gluten-free?"
If a note is unclear, prepare as normal or check item defaults.
Multiple Orders¶
When handling several orders:
- Work oldest orders first (unless quick items can jump ahead)
- Keep items organized by order number
- Use the printed tickets to track
When Food is Ready¶
Once an order is complete:
- Package the order
- Double-check all items are included
- Mark as Ready for Pickup
Preparation Time¶
Your dashboard tracks how long each order has been preparing. This helps you:
- Identify orders taking too long
- Maintain consistent service times
- Prioritize the queue
Consistent Times
Customers appreciate knowing roughly when their food will be ready. Consistent preparation times build trust.
