Sound Alerts¶
Configure audio alerts for new orders.
Why Sound Alerts?¶
In a busy food truck:
- You can't always watch the screen
- Kitchen noise can be loud
- Sound alerts cut through the noise
- Never miss an order
Enabling Sound Alerts¶
In iPad Settings¶
- Open iPad Settings
- Go to EetEet Vendor > Notifications
- Enable Sounds
In App Settings¶
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Toggle Order Sound ON
- Select your preferred sound
Alert Sound Options¶
Choose from several sounds:
- Chime - Pleasant bell sound
- Alert - Attention-getting tone
- Urgent - Loud, unmistakable alert
- Custom - Use your own sound (advanced)
Sound Volume¶
The app uses your iPad's notification volume:
- Use the volume buttons on iPad
- Or go to Settings > Sounds
- Adjust Ringer and Alerts slider
Volume Check
Test your sound alert at the actual volume you'll use during service.
Repeat Alerts¶
Set alerts to repeat for unaccepted orders:
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Enable Repeat Alert
- Set interval (every 30 seconds, 1 minute, etc.)
This ensures you don't miss orders even if you didn't hear the first alert.
Silent Mode¶
If your iPad is in silent mode:
- Notification sounds won't play
- Make sure the silent switch (if present) is off
- Or disable silent mode in Control Center
Speaker Recommendations¶
For loud environments:
- Connect external Bluetooth speaker
- Position near cooking area
- Turn up volume on both iPad and speaker
Muting Temporarily¶
Need quiet for a moment?
- Lower iPad volume
- Or enable Do Not Disturb briefly
- Remember to restore settings!
Don't Forget
If you mute notifications, set a reminder to turn them back on.
