Notification Settings

Customize which notifications you receive and how.

Accessing Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Configure each notification type

Notification Types

New Order Alert

Triggered when a customer places an order.

  • Push notification - Alert even when app is background
  • Sound - Audio alert
  • Badge - Number on app icon

Recommendation: Enable all three

Order Reminder

If an order hasn't been accepted after a few minutes.

  • Enable/disable - Turn reminders on/off
  • Delay - How long before reminding (2, 5, 10 minutes)
  • Repeat - Remind again until accepted

Recommendation: Enable with 2-minute delay

System Alerts

Important system notifications:

  • Connection issues - Internet or Square problems
  • Sync errors - Menu sync failures

Recommendation: Always enabled

Badge Settings

The badge number shows unprocessed orders:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Configure Badge Count:
    • New orders - Count of orders not yet accepted
    • All active - Count of all non-completed orders
    • None - No badge number

Quiet Hours

Set times when notifications are quieter:

  1. Enable Quiet Hours
  2. Set start and end time
  3. Choose quiet behavior:
    • No sound, still show notifications
    • No notifications at all
    • Only urgent alerts

Use this if you keep the app running overnight but don't want alerts.

Per-Device Settings

If you use multiple iPads:

  • Notification settings are per-device
  • Configure each device separately
  • All devices can receive alerts for the same truck

Reset to Defaults

To restore default notification settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Scroll to bottom
  3. Tap Reset to Defaults
  4. Confirm

This restores recommended settings.
