Connect Square

Link your Square account to accept payments through EetEet.

Why Square?

EetEet uses Square for payment processing because:

  • Trusted platform - Millions of businesses use Square
  • Easy reconciliation - All orders sync to your Square dashboard
  • Menu import - Import your existing Square menu
  • Unified reporting - See EetEet sales alongside other Square sales

Requirements

Before connecting, you'll need:

  • A Square account (free to create at squareup.com)
  • Your Square login credentials
  • Location set up in Square

Connecting Your Square Account

  1. Go to Settings > Square Connection
  2. Tap Connect Square Account
  3. You'll be redirected to Square's login page
  4. Sign in with your Square credentials
  5. Authorize EetEet to access your account
  6. You'll be returned to the app

What Gets Connected

When you connect Square:

  • Catalog sync - Your Square menu can be imported
  • Payment processing - Customers pay through Square
  • Order sync - Orders appear in your Square dashboard
  • Reporting - Sales data flows to Square reports

Permissions

EetEet requests these Square permissions:

  • Payments - Process transactions
  • Catalog - Read menu items
  • Orders - Create and manage orders
  • Locations - Access your business location

We never access sensitive data like bank accounts.

After Connecting

Once connected:

  1. Import your menu from Square
  2. Verify your menu items look correct
  3. You're ready to accept orders!

Connection Status

Check your connection status:

  1. Go to Settings > Square Connection
  2. You'll see:
    • Connected - Everything is working
    • Reconnect needed - Authorization expired
    • Not connected - Square not linked

Reconnecting

If your connection expires:

  1. Go to Settings > Square Connection
  2. Tap Reconnect
  3. Sign in to Square again
  4. Authorize the connection

Why Reconnection Happens

Square tokens expire periodically for security. If you see connection errors, try reconnecting.

Troubleshooting

Can't connect?

  • Make sure you're using the correct Square credentials
  • Check that your Square account is in good standing
  • Try logging into Square's website to verify your account

Connection keeps failing?

  • Check your internet connection
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting
  • Contact support if issues persist
